One Dark Throne Review!

I really enjoyed book 2 and getting answers for some of my questions! But as you guys know...

Let’s get into it… okay, Mirabella. The fact that she originally believed that Arsinoe tried to kill her with the bear and then she went to go and try to kill her sister… only to not be able to do so! Then Billy being punished for trying to save Arsinoe in book 1 is sent to live with Mirabella. At the same time, she gets her heart broken by Joseph because no matter what it was always going to be Jules (which is what I had figured from the get go). Billy is also the whole reason why she stopped wanting to kill Arisnoe because he told her the truth about the bear attack. Then when they were all at the festival and she thought Katharine killed Arisnoe was heartbreaking! And only to find out her sister is actually a poisoner queen! What I really loved is how Mirabella would do anything to keep Joseph and Jules alive because of how much her sister and Billy loved them. To be honest, I really thought the next love triangle would have been between Arisnoe, Mirabella, and Billy; but I’m sooo glad that is not true!

Arisnoe I didn’t feel like had as much as a plot/storyline this book other than trying to learn more about her poison gift. My biggest thing is how much I felt for her when she accidentally killed her two suitors! Also the fact that even though the bear was brought to her with low magic, they slightly had a familiar bond. That was pretty cool. This was also the book that she realized that she had feelings for Billy. And when she almost died from Katharine (the first time), was so heartbreaking! And then she came back to save and help Mirabella become the Queen of all. During their escape… I was worried for her because while she had a gift, she didn’t have anyway to use it. Also… Joseph dying at the end of this book hurt! But mostly because Jules and him were finally back to being alright again!

Katharine definitely had the biggest storyline. She is basically dead because Pietyr pushed her down the hole, only to be “saved” by all the past dead queens. I didn’t really care for her relationship with Nicolas, mostly because I did like her with Pietyr. That love triangle was agonizing to read about. And during the duel, wow… The fact that neither Mirabella or Arisnoe would kill either one was wow! Because that lead to Luca betraying Mirabella to allow Katharine become queen. And then even though she was supposed to choose Billy, she goes against Natalia’s wishes… which causes Natalia to die at the hands off Billy’s father! But on her wedding night, when she and Nicolas consummate the marriage, she wakes up to him dead! This is when she realizes that the whole she was pushed in, where all of the dead queens are, they basically took over her body! So she is completely a poisonous queen. She will never be able to bed with a mainlander now birth the next set of triplets!

I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
